St. Christopher's Church of England
Cove Road, Cove, Farnborough, GU14 0EX
St Christopher's was built in 1934 and has been
refurbished in 2006 with comfortable seating. It is a relaxed, friendly
church which meets every Sunday at 10am, with five smaller groups meeting
in homes during the week.
The usual service is Communion with children and young
people having their own groups for part of the worship. When teenagers are
old enough they are encouraged to attend ACE youth club on Friday evenings
at Southwood church. On the first Sunday of the month there are no
separate groups; instead the whole church family meets together in an
informal "Worship for Everyone" service. At each service there is a blend
of traditional and current worship songs. The whole service is projected on
the screen so if you haven't been to church for a while there are no books
to fumble through!
Also on the first Sunday in the month there is a
reflective evening Communion with prayers for healing and, for people who
cannot get to church on Sundays, a midweek service is held on Wednesday
mornings.
St Christopher's tries to be active in the community
and particularly looks forward to welcoming the children of Tower Hill
School for Easter and Christmas workshops. The church is used for theatre,
concerts and young people's Christian rock nights.
Fellowship is important to us and a range of social
activities, breakfasts and working parties are arranged through the year.

St. John's Church of England
St. Johns Road, Cove, Farnborough, GU14 9PW
The original parish church of Cove, St. John's is more
than just a pretty face! We are a group of people whose vision is to bring
the love of God to the community of Cove where we live. We worship in a
pretty Victorian church which is popular for weddings from throughout the
parish. It is set in a well-kept "country churchyard" where purple heather
blooms and wildlife flourishes.
St. John's was built in 1844, patterned on the much
larger St. Cross church on the outskirts of Winchester, and was designed to
serve the small rural community of Cove, and the big house in the area. You
can still see the special seats where they sat. The church is not large,
and seats about 120 - not nearly big enough to contain the current
population of Cove!
In the past 10 years the interior has been redecorated
to emphasise the architecture and features of the building. The building of
St. John's is a much loved home in which we live, rather than being a musty
museum to maintain.
St John's church meets for worship at 10am on a Sunday
morning. It is at present mainly Communion centred and relatively informal.
The first Sunday is generally our Worship Together service where the
children stay in the main body of the church and we worship together as the
Family of God. Refreshments are served after all services in St John's
Hall. The worship is led by a small and gifted music group, generally
keyboard/guitar led, in a range of styles from traditional to modern. A
data projector is used for songs, words and often during preaching.
In the last couple of years, from a strong base, the
church has seen some healthy growth and Sunday congregations average
between 50-60 about a third of which are children. There is an active
Sunday School with a committed band of willing leaders and helpers. St.
John's also has a strong housegroup network, where members of the church
family can meet to study the Bible, enjoy friendship and fellowship as well
as pray of be prayed for.

Southwood Church
Southwood, Farnborough, GU14 0NA
Southwood Church, set up in 1992, meets at Southwood
Community Centre, Links Way, Southwood. We try to make our services fun and
interesting, with a good mix of new and familiar things as well as good,
relevant Bible preaching and teaching. We believe church is a place to find
fun, excitement, comfort, love and peace.
We have a good band, which leads worship songs in a
broad range of styles. All the words for songs are projected on the wall,
and we don't have a 'service book'. The worship leader guides us through
each step of the service so no one is worrying whether they are doing the
'right thing'!. Some dress smartly, some in jeans and t-shirt. We're a
friendly bunch! We also have a good diary of events, from church walks to
Alpha (a popular Christian basics course), barbecues, the ACE youth club on
Friday evenings; Smilers -our baby and toddler group; church parties; and
much more.
We also have good links with the community, especially
our local Southwood Infants school. Southwood church is a friendly church.
There are people to chat with after the service, and we serve tea and
coffee. But if you just want to be quiet, well that’s fine too!
